That typwriter is pretty much what got me through highschool (which by the way when I was in highschool boys were not allowed to take typing - we had to teach ourselves)

The same typewriter got me through college - I typed a lot of 10 page geology papers for Yale students who had to do 4 summer sessions at UTEP for their doctorate.

My classes required a 30 page paper for each course - today students would burn down the campus before having to type a 30 page paper - let alone on an old royal portable

I bought a second-hand Olivetti, a lovely green office machine when I got out of the Army and went back to school and gave my mother her Smith-Corona portable back. I typed my through school to about 1985, shifting to ditto production after I started teaching. Then I bought my first computer because I had heard of the miracle of word processing wherein a thing only needed to be typed once. In a moment of enthusiasm in about 1990, I asked if any student would like to have the Olivetti. Someone did.
I sure wish I had that lovely piece of Italian craftmanship again. One repair needed in about fifteen years of heavy use.
