My apologies for the lack of detail in this live blog. I was a bit distracted with my participation in charter review discussion.

I am pleased that overall, the Commission was receptive to my suggestions. They agreed that the agendas should be posted and minutes taken. From what I gauged, they would allow the committee to set its parameters which included the selection of a chairman and vice chairman if the committee so chose.

There was some conflicting information. Goza believed we had two meetings when we only had one. Staff said we were provided a copy of the charter at the first meeting, when that was not the case.

Regardless, it appears this committee is back on track, and I want to thank the City Commission for taking part in some constructive, professional dialog.

I liked Ahumada's idea of Goza compiling all the charter provisions that comflict with state law so that the rest of you can focus on more substantive issues. He will probably present them in the order that they appear in the charter, but you should further suggest to him to also list them in order of priority. That way, when the committee is putting together a set of recommendations, you know which ones he really wants to have changed and which ones he can live with.

And thank you for hosting the live blog.
