Texas AM currently has an ongoing survey in the gay district in Dallas. My friend who is an interviewer is telling me they are doing on the spot swab testing of those being interviewed. he is telling me they are having to inform 18 year olds they are positive.

getting the message out in the LRGV is difficult because of a lack of funding.

Many people with HIV move way because of a lack of funding for adequate healthcare.

Keeping silent about this helps no one.

A friend of mine works for a local valley hospital where they do blood testing. He says that within the past two years the number of undiagnosed HIV infections has skyrocketed. The majority of these people are very young......we are talking 18 to 25 years of age on the majority. We need to start working harder to prevent this or we will all pay the price in the long run. Please do your part and support this important cause!

And having less people with communicable disease is a bad thing, why again? We are not forcing them away. They are going quietly and voluntarily. We don't have adequate healthcare. Seek or leave and yee shall find better health care somewhere else. It will lower the burden here at home where we have a diabetes, obesity, and heart health crisis.
